Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Draw the Eye Shape
Start by drawing a big sideways oval. This will be the main outline of your eye kind of like a football or an almond.

Step 2: Add the Inner Corner
Draw a small curved bump on the left side of your oval. This shows the tear duct, which is the inner corner of the eye.

Step 3: Outline the Eyelids
Draw a line along the top and bottom edges of the oval to shape the eyelids. These lines follow the curve of the eye and give it a more realistic look.

Step 4: Sketch the Eyelashes
Add a few small flicks along the upper eyelid for eyelashes. You can curve them a little for a natural look.

Step 5: Draw the Iris
Inside the eye, draw a large circle that almost touches the top and bottom of the eyelid. This is the iris the colored part of the eye.

Step 6: Add the Pupil
Draw a smaller black circle inside the iris. This is the pupil, which helps us see light. Leave a little white circle inside the pupil to make the eye look shiny.

Step 7: Add More Eyelashes
Now add more detailed lashes on the top and a few on the bottom. You can make them longer or thicker if you want a dramatic eye.

Step 8: Add Eyebrow and Eyelid Fold
Above the eye, draw a soft curved line for the eyebrow. Then add a curved crease above the eyelid to show the eyelid fold.

Step 9: Shade and Detail
Add some shading inside the iris to make the eye pop. You can use short lines or gentle shading to create depth. Darken the lashes and outlines for the final polished look.

Time to Color
Grab your crayons or markers and have fun. Color the iris any shade you want blue, green, brown, purple, even rainbow. Add pink cheeks, sparkles, or fun decorations around the eye too. It’s your drawing.

How to Draw an Eye for Kids
Step 1: Draw the Eye Shape
Start by drawing a wide oval in the center of your paper. This will be the basic outline of the eye. Make it sideways like a lemon or football shape, it’s okay if it’s not perfect.

Step 2: Add the Iris
Inside the oval, draw a large circle that fills most of the space. This is the colored part of the eye. Make sure it’s centered.

Step 3: Draw the Pupil
Now draw a smaller black circle in the middle of the iris. This is the pupil. If you want your eye to look shiny and cute, leave a little white circle inside the pupil for the light reflection.

Step 4: Outline the Eyelid
Draw a curved line above the eye to make the top eyelid. You can also draw a little curved line below for the bottom lid. This adds more expression.

Step 5: Add Eyelashes
Now let’s give your eye some style. Draw 2 or 3 short curved lines on the top edge of the eye for eyelashes. You can add some at the bottom too if you like.

Step 6: Final Details
Add a few extra lines around the iris or pupil if you want to give it more depth. You can also lightly trace over the eye again to make your final outline bolder.
